Prior to her employment at Silvermist, Crystal dedicated fifteen years working in the field of behavioral health with both adolescents and adults. She is driven by her belief that the opportunity to embark on the journey of recovery with people who are starting that same journey is critical to success. Crystal is passionate about the need to involve family supports in the recovery process through education and collaboration. She also believes that there are many paths to recovery, and that people who find themselves in need of help can benefit from guidance to help them find the methods that work best for them. Her view is that chemical dependency is a symptom of addiction that effects mind, body and spirit, and that all of these need to be addressed for healing to begin.
Crystal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania as well as a Master’s Degree in Community and Agency Counseling from the California University of Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Family Structural Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
